There is something very wrong with the world that we are made to see around us. Human Society is not happy, there is
protest, discontentment, poverty, inequality, greed, corruption, Ego, Fanatics’, Agnostics’, natural calamities occurring with frightening regularity and above all Global terrorism which just does not want to call it a day.In short there is chaos everywhere. One word that can describe all this is “Qayamat”. In Jamasphi” and at many places in our Zoroastrian scriptures like“Chithrem Buyaat” prayers, it is mentioned that time is near for Shah Behram Varjawand our Saviour to come in this Qayamat and revive us and our Deen. The Saviours from other religions will also appear and will work together with a common goal for grooming mankind and his spiritual revival.

Today every one wants to die a Martyr's death for Religion, but no body wants to live for the sake of true teachings of Religion. It goes without a doubt that we have let go the true kernel of Mysticism in religion and embraced only the outer shell of a glossy show of Religion. We forget that Religion is not show business but it is a way of living. Your Left hand should not be able to know what Tarikats your right hand is practicing.

The Western Astrology call this as Aquarian age and phenomenon that we see today are occuring with lightening quickness. For we never knew that Communist USSR will disintegrate one day and fragment into many small nations, that Germany will one day be united, the revolution in Egypt, Syria, the fall of dictators, and China a sleeping giant awakening to technological boom are all an indicator that we are very much in this Aquarian age. The transition from the Age of Pisces to Aquarian Age is already taking its toll till we roll into Age of peace and calm. We are looking forward to being Optimistic and not being fatally Pessimists. Please see the link provided:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Aquarius

More than 100 years before in past when faith was at its lowest Nadir in our community without caring for deep religious significance when there was idle talks about futility of our time tested customs like Dokhmenashini, Rituals, Sudreh Kusti being only a symbol, Avesta Manthra prayers being considered as waste of time, faulty myopic thinking that offerings of sandalwood to Atash Padshah being waste of sound monetary resources which could have been better utilized for betterment of our community, lack of faith was the reason behind these ignorance’s. Ignorance coupled with arrogance was, and still is the main reason stymieing our spiritual progress.

The Zoroastrian hidden Masters in Demavand who are very much concerned about our community’s spiritual progress saw the need of sending a forerunner before the advent of Shah Behram Varjawand Saheb, and they chose Behramshah Nawroji Shroff whom his followers lovingly call him as Ustad Saheb. He brought amongst us Zoroastrian Mysticism called as Zarathosti Ilme-Khshnoom.

The word Khshnoom can be found even in our scriptures, so it is not something alien that is thrust on us. It is the revival of the lost knowledge called as Ilme-Khshnoom that our forefathers had with them that kept the flame of faith burning in their hearts, that Ustad saheb brought for us. The literature is penned down by his chosen and authorized disciples late Dr. Saheb Faramroze Sohrabji Chiniwala, and Late Jehangirji S. Chinwala.

Late Ervad Phiroze Shapurji Masani had for so many years maintained his publication “Frashogard” all under guidance of Ustad Saheb. Today we see that day by day our faith is again going downhill. The need of Saviour can only be felt when all seems to be lost towards Traditional cause. It is to rekindle that hope and faith and iron out unwarranted fear of our religion dying a premature death that this Blog will be looking forward to. The aim for starting this Blog is to translate the majority of Khshnoom literature that is in Gujarati writings of Late Chiniwala brothers and Late Phiroze Masani for the benefit of those genuinely interested in Zoroastrian Mysticism .

When there is too much of chaos nature allows it only up to a certain threshold limit, once it crosses the limits it puts a
full stop to it, for nature has its own ways of bringing Order out of Chaos.

So in mean time what are we Zarathosti Bastekustian supposed to do that will hasten the advent of Shah Behram Varjawand Saheb ? Are we supposed to look skywards and wait for him eternally ? His advent will much depend upon us also.

In nature there is a law of “Supply and Demand”. If the demand is there, supply is guaranteed. In Bible it is said that "Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find it, knock and the doors will open to you." ….. Mathew 7:7 Niv. Unfortunately the much needed knock never seems to happen and everybody is busy enjoying their fun filled moments and warns us to keep off limits of their rights and Freedom. But they seem to forget that behind every right that one asks for, there is a responsibility which is conveniently forgotten.

"RTI" also known as "Right to information"is blatantly misused in today's world of so called Freedom . Some want Freedom to enjoy whatever is appealing to them, but is considered as Taboo in Society. Not before all these false ideology will be swept away by fury of nature and realization of folly will dawn naturally aftermath, nevertheless too late by then, but the road will be paved for introducing Shah Behram Varjawand to the world.

In middle of face-off between two warring sides and Chaos, we will come to know the time of Varjawand Saheb's arrival automatically. As a Mother knows intuitively the time of delivery of the baby, we will feel the desperate pangs of labour like a Mother feels before her delivery.

Right now only a few are longing for his arrival but just as "A lone sparrow does not herald a spring" similarly one requires a collective thought force to set everything in motion. For that I had started a short exercise every 7.30 a.m. in morning but unfortunately we don’t seem to realize its importance. Till we are all vibrating with one frequency, other word is called as Hum Mithra, Varjawand Saheb’s advent will be a distant dream only. The exercise is as under to be followed by a Mithra every 7 a.m. or around that time frame. No need to be very rigid about time. The Mithra is as under:-

What is Hum Mithra:-

Man proposes and God disposes. Hence we requires Dadar Ahura Mazda’s blessings all the time for success and that is known as “Daham Afriti”. Without it we cannot move forward even an inch. But for his Daham Afriti to be assessable to us we require to think with one vibration in Hamoi, only then can we succeed in our purpose. Dadar Ahura Mazda is not happy when there is infighting so how can we receive his Daham Afreeti. This one thought force having selfless single pure vibration is known as Hum Mithra. The Law of cause and effect governs this universe so whatever incidents we see bad or good its cause has to be there. Every action has its reaction. The bad precedent that we are facing now after a crematorium is announced in Worli where innocent public are falling prey to it. Those encouraging Aramgah and such ashmogi are themselves the victims of their own deeds so we have to pity them instead of contempt for them and a calming thought has to be passed by us at a particular time collectively. If love is the language of angels then why should we be harsh to even our so called enemies. For in life there are no enemies, and everything is Karmic. The Bhali Dua is as under:-

Bhali Dua at 0730 am every morning:-

2 Yatha , 1 Ashem Vohu.

Those ignorant brothers and sisters opposing our age old customs of Dokhmenashini and believe in universality of our religion by inviting all to our holy places and Iranshah need our pity and not contempt for they are bitten by the demon of ignorance and arrogance. O Paak Dadar Ahura Mazda shower your choicest blessings upon them that they regain their lost faith and begin realizing that the true nature of religion is humility.

"Let no harm come upon the Traditional Zoroastrian flag and its values which are so dear to us. Let the reformists agenda and their nefarious plans never succeed. Let no harm befall upon Pavmahal of India that is - our Iranshah of Udwada and all Atash Behram, Atash Adran and Dadgah of India. Let not one day pass without Atash Parasti and our reverence towards Holy consecrated Fire(Pavmahal),Dokhmas, Sudreh Kusti, Mathravani which acts as a weapon to thwart evil. Enable us to protect our racial traits of Parsi Panu through Boonak Pasbani. Enable us to maintain our true “Zarathosti Khandani” by not intermarrying and continue with our Aryan Lineage intact. May the advent of Shah Behram Varjawand come soon, and before him may his forerunners arrive at the earliest and grant us spiritual strength to withstand evil around us. Let my Kusti Padiav and my Tarikats be helpful to nature to fight for the cause of righteousness against the evil negative forces of Drujis, and may it protect us all Zarathustis and entire humanity who live by their religion and its tenets. "Phiroj baad Khureh avizeh Vehdin e Mazdiyasnan" - Let the Khoreh of Mazdiyasni Zarathosti deen protect its faithful followers"

A Tribute to Late Dasturji Farmroze Navroji Kutar

Friends,

Roj Adar, Mah Avan 1381 Y.Z.

Tomorrow on 24th March, 2012 being 84th Anniversary Salgreh of Rustam Faramna Agiary, on that joyous occasion forwarding the under mentioned article which was originally written in Gujarati by Jehangirji S. Chiniwalla paying tribute to Dastur Faramroze Navroji Kutar Dastur Darab Pahlan. This article has appeared in booklet in the year 1958 on 30th anniversary of Rustam Faramna Agiary which coincided exactly with 1st death Anniversary of Dastur Faramroze Navroji Kutar. The oil painting of Dasturji Faramroze Kutar which is presently in the Prayer hall was inaugurated in 1958 on the above occasion, and was painted by late Minocher Patel himself a khshnoomist.

Dastur Dr. Hormuzdiar Mirza of Sanjana Tola or clan connected to Shri Pak Iranshah AtashBehram has given additional information about Dasturji Farmroze Kutar in above mentioned Gujarati booklet worth mentioning and is mentioned below:-

Late Jehagirji Sohrabji Chiniwalla pays tribute to Dastur Faramroze Navroji Kutar.

My association with Dasturji Faramroze Navroji Kutar extends to over 35 long years. We don’t make any more the likes of him and he is considered as the last of the Dasturs who lead a strict life of Ashoi and tried to follow as much of tarikats as he can. He descended from Bhagarsath Tola Athornan family of Navsari, from bloodline of Dastur Darab Pahlan Faredun family and practiced Yozdathregari right from his early ripe age and also studied Zarathosti Religion in a Traditional method as was the practice in those days.

The first impression that late Jehangirji S. Chiniwala had when he came face to face with Dastur Faramroze was that of instant reverence and respect which automatically came from his heart. Dasturji's radiating nobility which was very much apparent on his face was enough to command respect from anybody. He was very soft spoken and was always cool, calm and well composed when he spoke with sweetness and love, respect towards anybody. late Jehangirji on his first meeting with the Dasturji understood very well that here was a Dastur of great caliber and nobility. In those olden days there were many other Amaldar Yozdathregars of bygone years whom we have forgotten today who used to subjugate Gin, Pari and evil spirits with their power of ashoi and Manthra prayers. Dasturji Mullan Feroze and Kukadaru saheb were those great Dasturs that we know of. Dasturji Faramroze Kutar was the last such Dastur that our community was fortunate to have him with us. He used to religiously practice Tarikaats of Ashoi as much as he can which was the source of his inner spiritual strength.

Today we have with us a school of studying Zarathosti religion known as school of Philology where one tries to understand our scriptures by applying grammar as we understand of. The other older method that Athornan class used to study our religion, was the old traditional way as was practiced by our forefathers which was known as Traditional school of Zoroastrian studies. Dastuji Faramroze had commenced his Zoroastrian studies applying the old method as practiced by our forefathers. Later on he also took help of Philology school to further enhance his studies with much broader spectrum. Finally he studied our religion as per School of ilme-Khshnoom, much to his satisfaction and to his heart’s content he received satisfactory explanations to all his queries.

Parsi community when they settled in Sanjan in India used to speak Persian language also called as Shirin zaban or very sweet language. At that time the present Gujarati language that we speak today was not even in existence than. Parsis of those days had never severed themselves from their ancestral Persian language, but since last century Gujarati has become our mother tongue. The Yozdathregar of those days were very conversant with Persian language. Ervad Behman Kaykobad had written Kisseh Sanjan in Farsi. Learned "Dasturji Mullan Firoze Bin Mullan kaus Jallali" who belonged to kadmi tola was proficient and an expert in Farsi language and literature. He had during the beginning of British rule written "George-Namah" for King George the fourth. A copy of it was sent to King George the fourth who was very happy and as a mark of respect for his efforts generously donated a princely sum which Dastur Mullan will receive throughout his life time.

Dasturji Faramroze Kutar was also proficient in Farsi Literature who used to compose beautiful couplets and poems in Farsi language. He observed that Shahnamah was translated in English, French, Italian, German languages but it was not done so in Gujarati Language which is considered the mother tongue of Parsi Community. Also word to word translation of Shahnamah in Gujarati language was conspicuous by its absence. Hence he decided to take this mighty venture as his own responsibility and he along with his elder Brother Ervad Mahiyar Navroji Kutar came out with 10 volume full of Shahnamah translations in Gujarati with Farsi couplets side by side in Gujarati script. Parsi community owe a lot to Dasturji Faramroze and his brother Mahiyar for translating Shahnamah and making it available for Parsi community who do not know how to read Persian script and understand it. Each and every Parsi household should have Shahnamah in their home and should be considered as holy next to our Pak Khordeh Avesta only.

Dasturji Faramroze Kutar led a strict disciplined life of piety trying to practice as much Tarikats as he can. He meticulously performed all his worldly and spiritual duties and utilized every minute of an hour systematically knowing the value of time. He tried to observe all Tarikats that a Athornan is supposed to follow even under difficult trying times. Dasturji Faramroze had implicit faith on Tarikat Marg, Kriya Marg, Manthra vani and its many benefits as shown in our Zarathosti din. He was very much aware that the school of Philology was unable to give satisfactory explanations to many of doubts that aroused on topics of Tarikats and Kriya. He was prepared to study impartially and was a seeker of truth no matter the source.

When he impartially studied Tarikat Marg, Kriya Marg, Manthra vani, Varna, classification of souls and its vast machinery in nature in form of many religions, many paths but one goal as shown and explained in ilme-Khshnoom, he immediately recognized it as truth that he was seeking for. He thus developed explicit faith on all teachings of ilme-Khshnoom and was its student till the very last. At one instance Late Jehangirji Chiniwala as he continued his narration said that whilst he was in the midst of a lecture on the topic of Avesta Manthravani and its many benefits for a Zarathusti. Dasturji Faramroze being in the midst of the lecture narrated a strange incident that had actually occurred in his own life. Dasturji Faramroze further said that in Navsari there was a Magician who made a claim of recognizing any object hidden in the closed fist of a hand. Dasturji Faramroze wrapped his Padan that he used to wear whilst praying Manthra in his fist and tightly closed it whilst praying Ahunavar kalam. Much to the chagrin of the magician he was unable to guess what was lying enclosed in Dasturji's tightly closed fist.

In another lecture of Late Jehangirji on topic of Tarikat Marg and Ashoi and its many benefits Dasturji Faramroze accepted that he had deep faith in all tarikats and narrated his another experience by saying that one of his colleague was suffering from toe nail infection and refused to heal in spite of Surgically making an incision in it. Dasturji Faramroze prayed Nirang for him and advised his colleague to follow Baaj that is given to us before we pair our nails and before haircut. On following Dasturji's advise the wound got healed very fast.

During Vansda Juddin Navjote controversy a book titled "Vatlavana Sawal Mateno Vadvivad" was written by Dr. Faramroze S. Chiniwalla as an answer to controversy where it was shown that in nature there is existing machinery of various religions. The book contained quotes from Avesta scriptures and its true meanings explained as per ilme-Khshnoom. The reformists had misquoted Avesta, scriptures twisted and misrepresented merely to prove their point that Proselytism being valid in our religion. Dasturji Faramroze Kutar studied Dr Saheb Faramroze Chiniwalla's book with impartially and as per his own knowledge of philology was impressed by Dr Saheb Faramroze Chiniwalla's book. Dastur Faramroze Kutar had at that time written a detailed review in Jame Jamshed paper and challenged the learned scholars to come forward and show their case in contrast to what has been written and proved by Dr Saheb Faramroze Chiniwalla in his above mentioned book. None showed up and accepted the challenge. Dastur Faramroze thus accepted with open arms ilme-Khshnoom and its teachings that Proselytism is not acceptable in our religion.

Dasturji Faramroze had implicit faith towards all the canons as shown in our Zarathosti deen and with his systematic studies strengthened his faith further. He was sweet natured and whenever there were various opinions he never lost his cool and always put forward his explanations and his view point with love and affection which was a sterling quality that he possessed.

Jehangirji Chiniwalla further reiterated that none were able to recognize the gem that we had in our midst called as Dastur Faramroze Navroji Kutar and Magnum Opus Shahnamah that he translated in Gujarati into 10 Masterly Volumes. As a token of appreciation and on behalf of "ilme Khshnoom felavnari Committee" he was posthumously honoured with a Casket and Certificate of recognition or "Maanpatra" for his noble services of translating Shahnameh and other works. Dasturji Faramroze's oil painting frame was also inaugurated and kept open for the devotees to view.

Late Jehangirji Chiniwalla further said that today Samast Anjuman has gathered to pay homage to such a great soul which is itself very heartwarming and satisfactory. Our community has many things to learn from illustrious and distinguished life of Dasturji Faramroze Navroji Kutar.

………………To be continued

What follows next is full serializing in Parts the complex subject of “The 16 qualities of an Athrawan” from Parsee Avaz of 1959. Also detailed explanation is required which I have given from Parsee Avaz dated 22.11.1959. Late Jehangirji Sohrabji Chiniwala has given a beautiful Khshnoomic explanation as to why did the magician fail in finding out what was hidden (Padan) in Late Dasturji Faramroze N Kutar’s hand (fist) and how this miracle was possible. Besides we tend to call any phenomenon that does not fit in our five physical senses as miracle but such is not the case. The tenets of our religion if observed meticulously and sincerely will one day lead us to salvation and the powers that come along with it is no short of miracle to an ordinary human mind with his physical five senses. Detailed explanation will follow the Series in Parts yet to come.

Thank you, Kaizad and Firdosh.

Reading this report, I am reminded of my younger days when Iloved visiting the Agiary only to keep my hand in Dasturji Faramroze Kutar's!Without a doubt, his face was full of noble aura, he always held a tasbiof kerba in his hand and was always murmuring his prayers! I used to lovelooking into his eyes, blue as the sky, kind, smiling andshiny! Today, his chair remains empty but I always imagine him sittingthere! His was a noble personality which a person never forgot having metonce!

Yes, those were the good old days! Even when Rustomji was thePanthaky Saheb no intermarrieds were allowed to enter; he personally made sureof that! There was happiness, unity, religiosity, Parsi-panu that made one proud!

About tarikats, magicians, and the power of our Manthravani, there is an instance I have heard which is worth reporting. It isabout contacting the spirits of the dead. Late Dasturji Saheb DasturjiHormazdyar Dastur Kayoji Mirza was visiting another country outside of India. Some Parsi scholars had gathered to do seance (contact) with the spirits of thedeparted. They invited Dasturji Saheb who naturally refused. After muchpersuasion, Dasturji was present in the room but sitting quietly in a corner, praying our manthravani! No matter how hard these folks tried to contact thedead, they could not! This was not the first time they had held such a seance.Puzzled, they turned to Dasturji and asked what he was doing! The reply was Iwas praying! It was Dasturjis' prayers that kept the spirits at bay! Thisincident proves many things, one is that our manthravani protects us from alland any negative influences!

Also, people should read Ustad Saheb's Memorial Volume whereinDasturji Faramroze Kutar has written a superb article. If I mistake not,Jehangirji Chiniwalla has also mentioned Dasturji Faramroze Kutar in the reportof the Public Meeting held in 1947.

If only we can bring back those good old days and those good oldpeople!

Sincerely,

Pervin... please continue sending the rest of the report. Thankyou.

Firdosh,

this is spiritual nostalgia

All those who grew up in Dadar in 1950's should remember him.I remember his radiant blue eyes and the stately beard.

There was a regal spiritual presence about him . As kids we always went up to him to get the caress from his hands like a blessing. Always had a kerba in his right hand.

Even all the adults who went to the Agiari would line up for his hand touch..You would fold you hands in reverence and he would then pass his hands over yours

Everyone would approach him on his High Chair seated at the entrance .He would be overjoyed to see small babies, .

My Navjote was done at Rustam Farama at 0800, when he was the head priest there ( I think) . He put his hand on my head before i went for Nahn and must have prayed somethinig special.

what an expereince. !

I am really lucky and thankful to have experienced him He was one person who could give you spiritual joy, just by his looks.

thank you for posting his photo.
